William (Bill) Turner was born and raised in Virginia, growing up in historic Alexandria. Founding Fathers and fellow Virginians, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were boyhood models along with famed "Liberty Orator" Patrick Henry and the noble Robert E. Lee. Bill moved to Georgia to work at the U.S. Penitentiary in Atlanta, after working with the North Carolina Department of Corrections. After some courses at Georgia State, Bill attended Woodrow Wilson College of Law graduating cum laude. Prior to forming Fears, Lawrence & Turner in 2003, Bill had practiced solo and with Baker, Sexton & Turner in Clayton County, Georgia.
A member of both the Georgia and National Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers for years, Bill is also a member of the Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court and a licensed arbitrator and civil mediator. Bill serves as the Associate Judge for the City of Locust Grove and as a JAG Officer for the Georgia State Defense Force.
Bill and his wife Margaret have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. They enjoy antiques and travel.
Kenneth (Kent) Lawrence was born and raised in Marion, Illinois and graduated from the College of Engineering at Southern Illinois University. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1996. In addition to his service for private clients, Mr. Lawrence has served as county attorney for Butts County, Georgia, City Attorney for Jenkinsburg, Georgia, counsel for the Butts County Industrial Development Authority and is currently appointed as Special Assistant Attorney General relating to juvenile matters in Butts and Lamar counties.
Mr. Lawrence was appointed as Municipal Judge for the City of Jackson in January 2017 and continues to serve in that capacity.
Kent has been married to his wife Joanna since 1995 and they have two daughters. .
